The private servers for this game is a separate game called Wurm Unlimited, its a 1 time purchase with no subscriptions. The devs stopped supporting it, but there are server mods that add alot of variety to the game.. im still playing it now.. its great

My very first MMO was Ultima Online which I played for 13 years and after that I kept seeking a replacement. That was until I found Wurm Online which, while lacking many of the cool things UO had, it still does offer a lot of the same types of experiences and charm. Hence Wurm became my UO replacement and I've been actively playing it for 11 years now. It's a pretty funny coincidence, but I just happened to watch your Pax Dei video the other day (as I'm now testing out Pax Dei for the first time) and as beautiful as the game is, and as cool as the building aspect is, I'm finding myself utterly unimpressed with Pax otherwise. Especially coming from a game like Wurm (and UO), both of which have so much depth and freedom. To be fair, it is in early access, but I have a hard time believing that they will ever get to the level of Wurm in it's sense of immersion and accomplishment. Heck, just the lack of terraforming alone was a huge damper. Wurm is amazing in the freedom it allows you to build pretty much anything and shape the land as you see fit. Even change the biome of your land! The things I've seen people accomplish in Wurm blow the mind! People tunneling into mountains and building underground cities, gorgeous towns on tops of the mountains, the ability to create your own islands... the list goes on!

Something that most new players don't realize (because it's not explained anywhere) is that the grindiest, slowest, most aggravating, strenuous, exhausting phase of the game is the very start. (which is exactly what scares so many player away). However, as your skills start to rise, things start to get easier, progress bars start going a faster, you fail less and less, and your sense of progression and achievement intensifies. If only new folks knew that! So using your house as an example, once your carpentry skills get into the 50's and above, you would have built that same house in probably 15 minutes. Another thing to realize is that you just happened to choose the most gigantic server of all of them. Larger land space = players more sparsely apart. On that server you chose (Xanadu) you can walk for ages without bumping into anyone. But had you chose for instance Cadence, you'd have been seeing people left and right as it's not only a smaller server but the one that became most popular after Wurm did it's Steam release back in 2020.

Having a PvP reward system is a big reason I enjoyed ds2. Having that neon glow when you invaded someone’s world was pretty sweet.

I played it. I thought the game was cute but norhing special art wise. The combat was fun, but the world felt bland and boring. The one thing that made me quit was the UI. It was absolute dogshit and i remember feeling completely lost at how unintuitive and illogical the menus for different systems felt to use.

I play this game as a solo player, as KOTOR III should have been instead of SWTOR. Overall though, joining a guild has opened up the multiplayer portion for me

i was in the guild final frontier on the na server, i miss it so much it wasnt pay to win it had cool cosmetics, the raids were godly af, the pvp was so fun, i loved it so much, wasnt grindy, had dungeons, tons of quests.

I played at release with SWTOR. One of the tragedies is that they made everything super easy. So much so that it is immersion breaking as you saw with The Mountain. I remember that fight being kind of hard. It actually felt good to win, but now, its stupid easy. Overall, I love that game for one reason of another. It got me into Star Wars lore which I never had been before. I don't know that I'll be back, but I did really enjoy my 5+ years in the game.

when you build a house you get a deed for that house it doesn't matter if somebody claims the area or not it's yours as long as you maintain it and if you build a fence attached to the house anything in that fence is yours and if somebody claims your territory you can complain about it and have them remove it they have a way of checking on server side to know if you built that house there before the claim was up or after so you can't use it for somebody to remove a claim was already there or if you got kicked out of a village and trying to get your house it's not yours in that case another tip the quality of something affects the Decay rate the lower the quality the quicker something decays off a claim never get rid of your beginner tools they won't disappear when you die even though they cannot be improved you will always have them another thing it's always a good idea to have your animals behind a fence it keeps nasty monsters out and you might want to put a fence around your yard to keep the big spiders from biting your ass off that death of your donkey would have been prevented if you had it behind a fence or inside your house also your skills are capped to 20 without premium it's cheap so I recommend getting it if you enjoyed the experience you had

Wildstar isnt what you remember. After it went free2play it massively reworked everything to appeal to PVE babies and cash shop whales. PVP was removed until max level, the game got an expansive 30-40 level long tutorial. It was a mess the patches before its death. If you have nostalgia it was from its subscription fee era within its first year of release.

Another cartoony game for furries. Gave it a hard pass immediately.

While the hardcore-aspect was way over the top, they also really f***ed over the progression-race hardcore-players are keen on. To get into the raid you had do a longish questline with some grind, but also some really difficult dungeons and challenges that kind of worked as a blocker for most guilds. I can't remember it that well, but there might also have been a timegate in there. Until 1-2 guilds found out that you can exploit it and pretty much skip all that to skip over to the end. All good, stuff like that happens on the edge, but what really got under the skin of the people i played with at the time, was, that we decided not to cheat it. The exploit got fixed rather quickly, but the progress not taken away from guilds that exploited it. So basically, if you wanted any chance of competing for first-kills, you better had cheated. That really doesn't sit well with hardcore-players and I knew a few guilds that just quit pretty much right there. Also... Warlords of Dreanor released that year and while it was pretty bad in the longer run, it was quite nice in the beginning.
